Breast Lift with Implants at a Glance
The Best Candidates
_
Combining breast augmentation with breast lift appeals to women who are looking not only for fuller breasts, but a solution to the sagging that can occur with age. Even if you are not seeking a change in cup size, the combination of an upper implant with the tightening of your natural breast tissue can bring out the best in your figure.
A full consultation with Dr. Mariotti will help you determine whether your breast lift should be combined with implants. But for a quick answer, you can use one simple test: if your nipple is above the fold of your breast, you likely do not need a lift. If your nipple falls below the breast fold, or is just at the level of the fold, Dr. Mariotti will likely recommend a breast lift with your augmentation.
What to Expect
_
A combination breast lift plus augmentation typically takes 2.5 to 3 hours and is performed at our surgery center. Most breast enhancement patients receive general anesthesia and are discharged from the recovery room after an hour or 2 of observation.
The procedure can also restore fullness to the upper breast — a common problem for women who have had one or more pregnancies and have breastfed. For this reason, many women choose to include a breast lift with implants as part of their mommy makeover for an even more comprehensive improvement.

After Your Procedure
_
Although your breasts will likely feel sore, any pain should be easily managed with oral pain medication. You can resume light activity in 3 to 5 days. More strenuous activity should be avoided for 2 weeks. Because the tissue has been tightened, your breasts should take 3 to 4 weeks to settle into their new contours. After recovery, you can enjoy your new look!

Breast Lift with Augmentation FAQs
Breast implants on their own will not improve the position of the breast on the chest wall. If you’re concerned with drooping or sagging, a lift is necessary to raise and reshape the natural breast.
A breast lift with augmentation does require more incisions compared to breast implants alone. However, the majority of women feel that their results are well worth any scars, which will continue to fade over time.
The recovery period is about the same for breast augmentation performed alone compared to adding a breast lift. Dr. Mariotti will share recovery guidelines for you to follow, including instructions for breast implant massage after surgery.
Dr. Mariotti also offers traditional breast lift surgery without implants for women who want to enhance their natural assets and restore their figure to a more youthful silhouette.
